Cannot send message using the server


If you see the above error message when trying to send an email your outgoing mail server settings have not been configured correctly.

Do the following:

  • Click on Try Later
  • Click on Mail in the menu at the top left of the screen and select Preferences
  • Make sure your email address is selected on the left and then click on the Server Settings tab to see a screen like below



Things to check are:

  • Port number is 587
  • Use TLS/SSL is ticked
  • Authentication is set to Password
  • Your username is your full email address
